The January artist on display is fashion designer and painter Draghan Marksman! This month's performers are bFlat Unplugged (Sat 2 Jan), Gina Gracemount (Sun 10 Jan) and Annabel Trafalgar (Sun 31 Jan). Hope to see you at some of the events, to dance on live music and enjoy the arts! :-)

Event Report 16 May 09 - and join us 30 May for Cylindrian Rutabaga!

The Library Art Gallery welcomed the talents of DJ Gabrielle Riel of Radio Riel for a fabulous dance party on May 16, in honor of current exhibitor Way Zessinthal. Twenty visitors joined us to dance, chat and enjoy the art.

Please join us for our April/May Exhibit Closing Celebration, Saturday 30 May 2009, 11 a.m. SLT. The excellent Cylindrian Rutabaga will perform live! The event coincides with the 3rd Anniversary of the Alliance Virtual Library, and Info Island promises to be one big party all weekend. Our curator Teofila Matova has some fun surprises in store, so come by for a last look at the art of Way Zessinthal, and enjoy Cylindrian's beautiful voice and folk guitar!

Event Report 2 May 2009

22 guests celebrated the striking and beautiful art of Way Zessinthal at the Library Art Gallery, with music and dancing courtesy of Otenth Paderborn of Radio Riel. Thanks to Emilly Orr for her gracious hosting as well!

Yesterday, on 18 April 2009, we had a wonderful Opening Celebration at the Library Art Gallery, for the April/May show.

Featuring artist for this show is Way Zessinthal. In RL she has shown in galleries in Pittsburgh and her work is in numerous private collections. And now she has brought her art to Second Life!

About 26 guests were amazed by her wonderful art. Thank you all for coming!

Event Report 28 March 2009

The Gallery swayed and rocked this Saturday to the skillful DJ mix provided by Gabrielle Riel of Radio Riel. We celebrated the closing of our February/March 2009 exhibits by Cora Dibou and Formatting Heliosense. Sixteen visitors came to dance and view the artwork. Thanks to Cora and Formatting for their wonderful exhibits, and to Emilly Orr and Gabrielle Riel for the warm hospitality and eclectic dance mix!

Event Report 14 March 2009

Enniv Zarf played to a delighted crowd of 32 appreciative listeners this past Saturday, at our latest Library Art Gallery event. Enniv's live piano improvisations were beautiful!

Exhibiting artist Formatting Heliosense was in attendance, and showed off some graceful dance moves.

Formatting Heliosense's art photography and Cora Dibou's cut paper works are on display through the end of March.

Please come and visit the gallery in-world and experience these artists' works!

This Saturday, 14 March - Enniv Zarf returns to the Gallery!

Please join us on Saturday, 14 March 2009, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. SLT, at the Library Art Gallery for an encore live piano performance by the amazing Enniv Zarf! Enniv's beautiful improvisations are a perfect aural match for the visual artistry of the Gallery's current exhibitors: Cora Dibou's intricate paper cuts and the arresting photography of Formatting Heliosense.

Event Report 21 February 2009

In celebration of the two artists for our February/March show, Cora Dibou and Formatting Heliosense, the Library Art Gallery held yet another very successful event!

Live DJ, Walton Vieria, mixed up great tunes for almost 40 guest in total, combining the classics from the 80s and 90s with current hit songs! Walton rocked!!

And so does the wonderful art of both our artists. Please come and see! :-)

Show Opening Report 7 February 2009

A few days ago, on 7 February, we had a wonderful Opening Celebration at the Library Art Gallery, for the February/March show.

Enniv Zarf let us enjoy his amazing improv piano play, inspired by the art on display, by our two artists: Cora Dibou and Formatting Heliosense

About 34 guests were amazed by Cora's paper cuts, and Formatting's beautiful photographs! Thank you all for coming!

Show Closing Report

Yesterday's Show Closing Celebration again marked a succesful event for the Library Art Gallery @ Info Island!

We had about 35 guests enjoying Cylindrian Rutabaga's angelic voice, and viewing the art currently on display, by our very talented artists Texanna Schumann and Sledge Roffo. They will be on exhibit through the end of January.

Welcome to the Library Art Gallery Blog!

Yes, at long last we have a blog spot. :-) The Library Art Gallery was established in mid-year 2007. On May 2008, I (Teofila Matova) was invited to take over management for the gallery -- as I had over a year's worth of successful gallery experience with my own, personal gallery in SL (tm). It is high time we have a BLOG to help keep our patrons and artists informed of the many events and programs and shows that we host.

The Library Art Gallery is a non-for-profit art gallery that exhibits artistic creations in Second Life(tm) for display purposes only (art on display is not for sale). The Library Art Gallery resides on Info Island is a 3072 sqm parcel and has 703 prims. The Gallery has two floors and spacious land, plenty of space for artists and exhibitors to disiplay their art in SL. We enjoy hosting fine art of all formats and genres: painting, still life, modern art, contemporary, photography, abstracts, stained glass, pottery, sculptures. We offer live music and/or DJs with our exhibition openings and other special events and programs. The Library Art Gallery is also available for art librarians, art aficionados, other individuals in the Arts & Humanities and Education community to hold their own events such as open forums, Q&A sessions, or tutorials.
